Yorkshire telecommunications and IT company acquires cyber security specialist

A Yorkshire telecommunications and IT company has acquired a specialist Zero Trust IT and cyber security business.

Northern Telecom has brought Newport-based C-STEM into the wider group.

C-STEM, which marks the group’s third acquisition this year, specialises in Zero Trust architecture and managed IT solutions, to help businesses avoid lost productivity time, maximise value and reduce operational and commercial risks.

The transaction adds to Northern Telecom’s investment in Wales, following the acquisition of Dyfed Telecom in February.

Group CEO Jon Graves said: “The group has had a great year and the acquisition of C-STEM gives us new capability and markets which will unlock further growth potential in the business.”

Legal support was provided by North East law firm Mincoffs Solicitors. Chris Hughes, partner in Mincoffs Solicitors’ corporate team, said: “We have worked closely with Jon and the team for a number of years now and it was our pleasure to deliver another successful transaction for the group.

“Northern Telecom continues to go from strength to strength and this latest acquisition complements the team’s plans for growth and bolsters their IT and cyber security offering. We wish C-STEM continued success within the group and look forward to working closely with Jon and the team on future deals.”
